The transfer of personal data to a third country can only take place if the country to which the transfer is intended ensures an adequate level of protection. The transfer of data to a country whose legislation does not provide a level of protection at least equal to that offered by the General Data Protection Regulation is only possible if there are sufficient guarantees regarding the protection of the fundamental rights of the data subjects.
